How Do I Update My Windows 10 Device After It Has Been Factory Reset?


On a Windows 10 based Tobii Dynavox device, there are three sets of updates that need to be run. There are the Windows OS updates for Windows, then there are the Tobii Dynavox software updates completed from the Update Notifier, and finally there are the updates to the newer Apps as provided through the Microsoft Store.

To complete all of the updates, please do the following:


  1. To the right of the date and time, in the bottom right corner, select the bubble there.
  2. If Tablet Mode is highlighted, select it to turn it off.
  3. If necessary, connect the Indi to your Wi-Fi.
  4. From the Start Menu, select the Settings Gear.
  5. Select Update & Security.
  6. Select Check for updates – but if it appears that there are updates pending a Restart, then Restart the device from the button within this screen.
  7. Repeat the Check for updates as many times as necessary to obtain a message that says “You’re up to date”.
  8. Close all windows.
  9. From the desktop, open the Update Notifier.
  10. Complete the sequence of Downloading first, then Installing second - all updates that appear.
  11. Repeat the Update Notifier as many time as necessary to obtain a message that says “Your system is up to date! Update Notifier will exit”.
  12. Close all windows.
  13. From the Windows Taskbar, open the Microsoft Store.
  14. From the three horizontal dots *** in the upper right corner of the Microsoft Storewindow, select Downloads and updates.
  15. Select Get updates.
  16. Repeat the Microsoft Store updates as many times until you obtain a message that says “You’re good to go”.
  17. Close all windows.
